How to get a watch repair estimate

Please visit our store at Shops At Boardwalk in Kansas City or call our store at (816) 587-6020. Alternatively, please mail your watch to us following the steps below.

Please Contact Us Before Sending Your Watch - Send an email to repair@jewelrybymorgan.com. Describe the watch you are sending and the repair needed as best you can. Please await our reply before sending the watch. If you've already spoken to us on the phone, you can skip this step.

Carefully Package Your Watch - Once we confirm your watch is a make and model we repair, carefully package and send your watch via the carrier of your choice to the address below. Please send ONLY THE WATCH (not the box, chain, fob, attached pocket-knife, etc). We recommend USPS Priority Mail with insurance and delivery confirmation, or send via registered mail to show receipt of your watch. Address the package exactly as shown below:

How should I ship my watch to you?

We recommend you wrap the watch in bubble wrap or other well-padded material, and place it in the center of a small box with additional padding around it. If you just place the watch in the box of styro-peanuts, the watch will quickly "sink" to the bottom and you'll have a very nice box of peanuts with an unprotected watch bouncing around at the bottom. Don't just send the watch in a padded envelope as it can be lost or damaged in transit.

Please send only the watch and do not include the fancy chain, or the box from the jewelry store or other items. We have had great success using USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation and insurance, but you may send via the insured shipper of your choice. You may use registered, insured mail. Please be sure to include a note with your name, address, phone number and email so we know how to contact you with your estimate.

Include the Required Estimate Deposit - Please include a check or money order in the amount of $50 for the estimate deposit per watch to cover cost of estimate and return postage. Customers outside the USA please contact us for the deposit estimate to cover higher costs of shipping. Your deposit allows us to take the time to perform a thorough inspection of your watch. We will provide the best possible estimate. The deposit also covers return postage and insurance in the event you decline the estimate. If you accept the repair estimate your deposit will be applied in-full toward the repair of your watch. Note the estimate deposit is non-refundable.

Include your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, and a brief description of what is wrong with the watch (as far as you know) or what you would like to have done. This is really important! If you don't tell us how to get in touch with you, and what you want done to the watch, we have a much harder time completing your estimate.

Receive Your Repair Estimate - Very soon after receipt of your watch (usually within 48 hours), we will thoroughly inspect your timepiece and send you a written repair estimate via email. If you agree to the repair estimate we will proceed with the work and your deposit will be applied in-full toward the work to be done. If you decline the estimate, we will return the watch to you via insured priority mail and your deposit will cover our time and the return postage.

In some cases, no additional payment is required until all work is completed, but payment for repairs must be made before the watch is returned to you. For your convenience, we accept VISA, Master Card, Discover, American Express, Personal Check, or Money Order. In cases where the cost of repairs significantly exceed the value of the watch, or the repair is valued above $300.00, we reserve the right to request a 50% deposit before starting work on your watch.

While in our custody, you can be assured your watch will be handled with the utmost professional care, but we are not responsible for loss or damage incurred in transit. We handle thousands of watches, and have never had a properly packaged watch lost or damaged in the mail.

Our Guarantee

One (1) Year Guarantee - If our repair fails within one (1) year, we will repair the watch again at no charge or refund your money.
Warranty does not cover water-resistance, bands, bracelets and/or crystals, or damage caused by impact (broken pivots) or abuse. Most vintage watches should NOT be considered water-resistant! If the watch has been opened or worked on by someone else, the warranty is void.
Repair or refund is at our sole discretion. Refund is limited to any part of the total repair, which fails to perform.
Warranty is non-transferable.
To submit a warranty claim, customer must return watch with copy of our original repair invoice within the one-year warranty period. Customer is responsible for all shipping and handling charges for warranty repairs.

What's included in a Clean-Oil-Adjust (COA)

Clean-Oil-Adjust (COA) watch service - First, the watch movement is disassembled. All parts are examined. Any damaged or worn parts are replaced. Then, the watch is thoroughly cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaning process. Once cleaned, each part is carefully inspected, adjusted, and lubricated as the watch is reassembled. Once the movement is assembled, the watchcase is cleaned and polished. Final assembly consists of re-attaching the dial and hands, and re-casing the watch. The case is completely examined and cleaned. Next, the watch timing is checked electronically and adjusted. Finally, the watch is set and run 48 hours for final inspection and observation before the watch is returned to the customer.
